The latest member of the cast for FF13 has been revealed.

In a somewhat deja vu move by Square-Enix, they have once again included a character of African descent into the main cast. Remember the last time this happened (Kiros is not a main cast)? It seems that they are trying to recreate the chemistry of FF7’s cast.

However, what’s different is that instead of a huge tough guy, they went the opposite direction and made him more likeable and charismatic character than Barret at first sight:

In the Recent Square-Enix press conference this December 10, 2008, SE has unveiled the release date for Dragon Quest IX for the DS. The game will be released on March 28, 2009 with a price of 5,980 Yen.

They have even released a special edition Slime model DSi:

But the most shocking part of the conference is that the next iteration of the DQ series, Dragon Quest X, will be coming for the Wii. Its not very surprising since Dragon Quest aren’t really too much about the graphics, but about the story.

Chrono Trigger DSIts no Chrono Break, but at least it will temporarily satisfy our craving for the Chrono series. The latest issue of Famitsu has shown the info on the latest game heading for the Nintendo DS.

Could this be mean that Square-Enix is prepping up to revive the Chrono Trigger series? Will we ever see a sequel? We can only hope…

UPDATE: the official website is now up… with a countdown timer!

UPDATE 2: oh the horrible amount of Sqeenix FAIL, the game is just a port not a remake… can you smell the cash-in?
