Dragon Quest 2 was one of my first RPG’s so it still holds some form of nostalgia with me. When I saw this epic cosplay of the DQ2 characters, it reminds me of an era where role-playing games was an exercise on the user’s imagination.

Old 2D sprite-based games usually required you to imagine what the character looks like and what their personalities are. But now, modern RPGs now trend to have realistic graphics with more emphasis on the character’s design and crazy fashion while leaving fun gameplay, plot, and character development behind.

Anyways, enough of the nostalgia, here is the awesome Dragon Quest 2 cosplay:

As with other consoles, the Wii experiences a severe drought of Japanese RPG’s. However, imageepoch’s new Wii game Arc Rise Fantasia might just fill that void. Imageepoch is more known for their earlier works on the DS with the Luminous Arc series. Arc Rise Fantasia will continue the lore of the Luminous Arc with its ties to the mystical dragons.

Not too bad for their first attempt at a Wii game. The bad news is that we will have to wait until 2009 for this game to be released in NA.

As with other Arc games, expect more ecchi moments

With the severe drought or JRPGs in consoles not named DS or PSP, Level 5 finally delivers an RPG that can possible respark the RPG interest in the Playstation 3.

The gameplay is very reminiscent of that of FF12’s.

Other than music, SquareEnix found another use for the IPod.  One of their newest release Song Summoner is now available on the iTune store exclusively.
