Captain Falcon is Lode Runner?

While browsing for some old school NES game covers, I noticed something very peculiar about on of the cover arts I saw. And it was the Japanese cover art of one of the old NES games called Championship Lode Runner.

Uncanny resemblance to Captain Falcon?

Just take a good look at lode runner in the cover. Does it look familiar?

Captain Falcon

A coincidental resemblance? Or are they both related? So is Lode Runner really Captain Falcon? or maybe he is his father, or maybe even his son? And since it was revealed in the ending of Bomberman that Bomberman and Lode Runner are the same person, does this mean that Captain Falcon is related to Bomberman too?

We usually see video game artworks in print such as magazines, t-shirts, and posters, but have you seen these artwork in your food?

Well, it seems that the Japanese are passionate about their food, and will sometimes go to great lengths to improves a meal’s visual appeal. These Pokemon themed bento boxes or boxed lunch will sure make any meal much more appetizing. Time to have some Pokemon for lunch.

Automatic Mario: Nico Medley

A new video has surfaced in Nico Nico Douga featuring a hack of the Super Mario World for the SNES. You might think this is just another old ROM Hack, until you see that this video features a musical remix using sound effects from the game itself!

The nico medley features several video game music from popular series such as games like Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Super Mario RPG, and Megaman, and from Japanese influences such as touhou, anime, memes, flash animations, and even pachinko!

Original Fire Emblem Theme Commercial

Well we’ve heard the Fire Emblem theme from Brawl with its latin lyrics and opera style singing, but have you ever wondered about its origins? Well here is one of those moments:

It seems that this theme was actually used in a weird, but epic commercial for the first Fire Emblem in Japan. It featured people in medieval costumes like knights, mages and soldiers singing the theme itself in an opera using Japanese lyrics. Check the video below to see this commercial in all of its glory.
