Chrono Trigger DSIts no Chrono Break, but at least it will temporarily satisfy our craving for the Chrono series. The latest issue of Famitsu has shown the info on the latest game heading for the Nintendo DS.

Could this be mean that Square-Enix is prepping up to revive the Chrono Trigger series? Will we ever see a sequel? We can only hope…

UPDATE: the official website is now up… with a countdown timer!

UPDATE 2: oh the horrible amount of Sqeenix FAIL, the game is just a port not a remake… can you smell the cash-in?

In other gaming news, Nintendo Channel launches in the North America territory today. Just download this channel from the Wii Shop channel for a few blocks. For those who already had a Japanese Wii, this is no longer a big deal.

The Nintendo Channel is mostly a channel where you can view game trailers, commercials, and developer interviews ala youtube, and upcoming games list for both the DS and Wii.

Nintendo Channel

The only big thing that you should be looking forward are the DS demos via the DS Download Service. Basically the Wii becomes a DS Download Play station and you can play limited demos of DS games. Otherwise, its just a Nintendo marketing channel. Its completely up to you if you want to download it.

As the Ouendan series gets highly popular, people starts to do the dance and cheer of the game. And I think we already seen enough of those. But out of all the one that I seen so far, I think this is got to be the best one.

I think this is probably the best one not just because the way they dress, the way they dance is according to the way Ouendan do in the game. You have to give them credit for even spending so much time to pay attention and practice the dance.

It seems that the DS has become an old-school gamer’s handheld. With the revival of the old franchises from the arcade, Atari, NES, and GBA such as Tetris, Contra, and Arkanoid, we can add another one to the list: Space Invaders.

For those who were old enough to play an Atari 2600, Space Invaders was the grand daddy of space shoot-em-ups. This game by Taito Corporation influenced the video game industry as we know it today. Now in the year 2008, another incarnation of the Space Invaders will be released for the DS - with a new twist.

The new title called Space Invaders Extreme takes a new musical twist into the game. Each hit of your spaceship seems to be timed with the game’s music. Combine it with the crazy visuals, and the gaming experience is nothing short of an acid trip. Check the trailer video below to see what I mean:
