The news all of Okami fans have been waiting for has been confirmed. The game Okami shall be released on the Wii platform.

This game, although universally acclaimed for its unique style and gameplay, has suffered from poor sales. However, now with it realease for the Wii, it shall have the second chance it deserves. It was enjoyable playing it on the PS2, but now with its introduction into the Wii it will be a perfect fit. The use of the Wiimote for brushstrokes and painting will really enchance the gameplay experience for this game.

Clover Studios, which was the original developer of the game, has been disbanded. And this raises some serious questions for this franchise. Will we ever see an Okami sequel? And how will Capcom handle this game in the future? Only time will tell.

If there is any recent announcement that is as good or better than the release of Street Fighter 4, this is it (maybe with the exception of Mega Man confirmed for Brawl). This game is going to be released sometime on the spring of 2008.
