Download Solar God HelmMaybe I should delegate this week as Papercraft week.

Today’s papercraft is no other than the solar god helm from Ragnarok Online. Even though you might not have enough zennies to buy it in-game, you can always make one… in real life! Certainly beats complaining over virtual items. Plus it makes a really great decoration for your home or office space.

Just make sure that you print the papercraft on a firm piece of paper to preserve the helm’s structure.

Mudkip PapercraftHere is another papercraft to keep your weekends busy. And it is no other than the pokemon everybody lieks. It is another find from 4chan’s papercraft boards.

As usual, you only need to print this on a firm piece of paper then cut, fold, and paste. A bit of a warning when creating this papercraft though… The head is literally quite heavy due to mudkip’s large head to body ratio. It is advised that you put something heavy like a dime or a rock inside its body to keep the model balanced.

If you really liek mudkips, then this papercraft is for you.

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan, better known as Elite Beat Agents on the western release is a rhythm game for the NDS, and also my current gaming addiction for the week. The game’s music library and humorous manga-style scenarios can really draw you in.

Here is a video from Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 featuring the song “Sekai wa Sore o Ai to Yobundaze” on Insane difficulty. If you think your skills are hardcore enough to beat this game, think again. This person’s got some pretty good reflexes.

Gunbound DragonFor game enthusiasts and hobbyist, here is another activity that will keep you preoccupied. Taken from 4chan’s /po/ boards, here is the Gunbound Dragon model papercraft.

Just print the pattern on a firm piece of paper (like a white folder), then cut the pieces, fold, glue, and assemble. It might take a while to make one on your first run since there are no instructions except for the folding and cut lines.

The current one that I created took about 6 hours to make. That would be enough to keep anyone busy for a while.

In this next tutorial, I will demonstrate how to perform input validation on AJAX forms using the jQuery form plugin.

The requirements for this tutorial are:

  • Basic knowledge of jQuery

  • jQuery library
  • jQuery form plugin
  • Before we start with this tutorial, let me make one thing clear:

Client-side input validation is no substitute for server-side validation.
Client-side validation can be easily bypassed, and should be treated more as an enhancement for the form.
